Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 19 July 2026
These terms apply when you book JunkGuys for junk removal, clean-outs, rubble clearing or structure demolition anywhere in our Garden Route service area. By accepting a written or verbal quote from us, or by allowing our crew on to your site, you agree to these terms.
1. About us
JunkGuys is a Garden Route junk removal and demolition business owned by Christo Bouwer. Contact: 066 133 0150, hello@junkguys.co.za.
2. Quotes and bookings
- Quotes are free and based on the information, photos and site details you give us.
- A firm price can only be confirmed once our crew has seen the load or site on the day.
- If the actual volume, weight or job scope differs materially from what was described, we will discuss any price adjustment with you before we start.
- Bookings are only confirmed once we have agreed a date and time in writing (SMS, WhatsApp or email is fine).
3. Pricing, VAT and payment
- All prices are quoted in South African Rand.
- Where VAT applies, it will be stated on your quote and invoice.
- Payment is due on the day of the job, unless we have agreed different terms with a business or property manager in writing.
- We accept EFT, card and cash. Proof of EFT payment must be shown to the crew before they leave site.
- Late payment may attract interest at the prime rate plus 2% and reasonable collection costs.
4. Access, safety and site readiness
- You confirm you are the owner of the items or have permission from the owner to have them removed or demolished.
- You will give our crew safe, legal access to the site and to the items on the agreed date.
- Where a body corporate, complex or landlord requires prior approval, you are responsible for arranging it.
- We will take reasonable care of your property, but we cannot be responsible for pre-existing damage, worn surfaces, or damage that is unavoidable in order to remove or demolish the item you have asked us to move.
5. Items and materials we cannot take
We do not remove:
- Hazardous waste, asbestos, medical waste, chemicals, paint or solvents in bulk.
- Live ammunition, explosives or flammable gas cylinders.
- Unsecured loose asbestos sheeting or friable asbestos.
- Any item that is illegal to possess or transport.
If items like this are found on site, we may refuse the job or the relevant portion of the job. A call-out fee may still apply.
6. Demolition and structural work
- You are responsible for making sure that any required municipal or body-corporate approvals are in place before we begin demolition.
- You must disclose known services on site (water, sewage, electrical, DStv, fibre, alarm, irrigation) so we can work around them.
- We take reasonable care to identify services, but we are not liable for damage to undisclosed or incorrectly marked services.
7. Disposal, donations and recycling
- Once removed, items become the property of JunkGuys and are disposed of, donated or recycled at our discretion.
- We use licensed landfill sites and, whenever possible, donate reusable items to local people or organisations instead of sending them to landfill.
- We cannot return items after collection.
8. Cancellations and reschedules
- You can cancel or reschedule at no charge up to 24 hours before the booked time.
- Cancellations within 24 hours, or if we arrive and cannot access the site or items through no fault of ours, may attract a call-out fee equal to our minimum load charge.
- We may reschedule due to weather, load-shedding, vehicle breakdown or safety concerns. We will offer the next available slot at no penalty.
9. Liability
- We carry public liability cover appropriate to our work.
- Our total liability for any claim arising from a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as loss of income, loss of tenants or delays in unrelated works.
- Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 that cannot lawfully be limited.
10. Complaints
If something has gone wrong, please contact us within 7 days of the job on 066 133 0150 or hello@junkguys.co.za so we can put it right.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute will be dealt with in a South African court with jurisdiction, or through an appropriate small claims or consumer forum.
12. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on our website at the date of your booking is the version that applies to that job.
